Stardock on Multiplaying – Get your questions answered

The Multiplaying podcast will soon be speaking with Brad Wardell, the founder and CEO of Stardock , a PC software company that has emerged as one the top gaming developers/publishers. Some of their top PC games are Galactic Civilizations I & II, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Demigod. Two of their games currently rank in the top 10 on metacritic for PC games released in the past few years. They also developed Impulse, a digital distribution service for games and Windows software that is very user friendly.
We are very excited for this opportunity! If you have any questions for Brad, please feel free to post them here or email them to multiplaying@gmail.com. While we can’t promise to hit all of the questions, we will do our best. Stay tuned for the podcast episode to air towards the end of the month.

With the recent news that Valve is moving over some of their most treasured IP’s to Mac, my mind began to drift off into thought of what this means as a PC gamer. Honestly, for now and for the foreseeable future, there is no need for me to own a Mac. Apple makes some solid [...]

Okay, after reading my last post, you can be assured that my hopes for Just Cause 2 being a good game had risen to new heights. By the time my Windows 7 (and subsequent drivers, programs, etc.) install was complete, it was pretty late. So, I started loading the demo for Just Cause 2 and [...]

If there’s one thing all of mankind can agree on, its that Nerfs suck. The age old question however, is if they are unwarranted or truly needed for balance. As with almost any game, lately I’ve noticed this topic being discussed fervently within Allods Online. Now, before I continue its important to note a few things. First off, [...]

Oh yes gentle reader, you are on the cusp of a post regarding Warhammer Online! Long time since I’ve written anything about the game. In fact, I think the last thing I wrote was about large members of its community walking away from the game, and how it needed to be a turning point for [...]

I’ve been spending a bit more time in Middle Earth for the past week. My account is still active until the end of the month from that deal of deals that I got before the holidays, and I figured I needed to jump in and see what’s what before deciding if I should keep a [...]

I’ve worked at my current employer for almost ten years now. That may not sound like an extremely long time, but considering I’m turning 30 in two weeks, it means I’ve spent a third of my life at the same job. Yeah, I know, right? Growing up, most kids wanted to be firemen, others wanted [...]
Why am I still playing this game?

Ok. I joined multiplaying a few (several?) months ago, a bit before Aion launched. I was excited about it, as were many of the members and contributing visitors to the community. As I recall, there was a bit of hype concerning the game in many other areas too. I know that initially spirits were high, [...]

I love my kids. They can run me though the gambit of negative emotions and then make me forget why I was mad with a wink, a smile, or a random act of goofiness. They do wear me out though. I probably have the world’s most energetic son (as I’m sure every parent thinks). From [...]

Dude seriously?!?
what method did you use to get in touch with Stardock? i’ve had the worst luck trying to get ahold of somebody using their forums, leaving a voicemail with someone from the company, and contacting their PR person. :/
This will be a great show though im sure!!
I’ll just submit one question… well a line of questions. you’ll see.
Has Brad played LoL? (beta keys are easy to get)
If so, does he think there is anything to adopt from the LoL model? specifically – Recipes (the way they do them has a very polished interface), Game Mechanics, or Choosing heroes in game to allow for faster/better replays?
If not, what turned him off from learning about the competition?
September 17, 2009 - 9:05 pm
Grats guys! I can’t wait to listen in!
September 18, 2009 - 6:37 am
I just want you to say “Well, check out the big brain on Brad.”
September 18, 2009 - 6:49 am
Hehe, and no matter what his response is, I will say, “That’s right…the metric system….”
September 18, 2009 - 7:04 am
For those that aren’t familiar with Stardock, what sets them apart as a company from its peers in the industry? What sorts of things does it do in order to create an identity for itself with the products it has produced?
September 23, 2009 - 10:41 am
moar dots.
Once modding is released, what role does stardock see the community playing in shaping ranked gameplay? Will popular mods be incorporated into Pantheons?
Also, what role does Stardock see for the community to create/hold its own events? Do they support 3rd party tournaments like Lagwar’s Demigod tournament?? The registration for which has just opened?? (shameless plug)
