100 in Aether Gathering

I am currently a level 21 cleric. I know, not very ambitious. I think I warned you about that already. If not, well… there you go. Back on topic, I don’t know why but I really wanted to get to 100 in the skill before moving out of Verteron.

Maybe there are better places, but I hung out at Miraju’s Holy Ground from skill level 25 to 99. The rest time required between flights was just about perfect for the nodes to respawn. The ability to rest at different vantage points was at least kind of entertaining. I probably should have grinded out the mobs there while I waited but I wasn’t in the mood and I had more fun hopping and running along branches and chatting with my guildies.

It also gave me some practice in timing those emergency landings when I would get a bit too greedy harvesting a node. Quite often I would be running a bit too low on flight time to make it back to my perch or even back to the ground safely, so by simply pulling in my wings, I’d flail frantically almost to the ground and then pop them out at the last moment for a safe landing. I must admit that more than once I did not use good judgment and flailed to my death. I’m sure it was amusing to anyone watching.

I really need to bind my flight to a key, but I’m not sure which one makes the most sense for me to use. I use an old merc zboard (that I love) and I’m still working on what to put where. I’m convinced that as soon as I get used to a set up, I’ll get some awesome new ability that will force me to redo everything that I’ve gotten used to and then I’ll be hitting wrong keys for a week.

I did stay up a bit later than I planned but I ran off to Sanctum and trained up to 100 in Aether Gathering before logging for the night. Now on to the next region, where I hear things get a bit more exciting.
