I’m a pretty understanding guy when it comes to life, the universe, and everything. I don’t tend to join in conversations that I know aren’t productive, and I’m always polite, even to a completely random stranger. I’m the sort of gamer who almost always stays cool, even when dealing with verbal abuse, and other “un-pleasantries”. [...]
If you haven’t already heard, NCSoft has released a statement saying that for the next three weeks they will be doubling experience gained for level 1-35 characters on weekends. This is to address the throngs of grievances over how mind numbing grinding is. Obviously, controversy began within minutes. Many posts have been made in response, even an [...]

I think it’s time for a little MMO observations and review. Namely, the stats and abilitites that make up who you are as a character in whatever world you prefer to play in. There’s a bunch of different character development systems out there in MMOland, but I want to try and whittle it down to [...]
Yep, I’ve decided to give Aion another go. I suppose it was a large combination of reasons, mainly consisting of: I already bought another three months of playtime, I still haven’t hit the max level or “Officer” rank, and perhaps, just maybe, actually playing the game I podcast about is a smart thing to do. However, [...]
Today’s big MMO newsflash is this video from NC East showing off their vision for Aions future. Take a gander!
I’m stunned, but worried at the same time. From the amazing battles with whatever those titans made of pure kickass are to the new player housing and mount system, it really makes a case for the [...]

There were two big MMO free trials that were floating around the internet last week. Fallen Earth was one of them, and you can read my thoughts on it here. The other was Lord of the Rings Online. A game which I had bought just after it’s release and only played for a few days [...]

I’m so damn sick of seeing the smileys……go away smileys!!!!

I have to agree – these changes weren’t the right way to address the problem.
October 23, 2009 - 5:47 pm
Yeah, they’re using knee jerk reactions to a problem and aren’t really addressing anything that is causing the problem. First off, the gibberish names could be filtered out, or have a report spam option. Banning ISPs or certain ranges (not sure if they’re using US ISP’s) but they have to do something, it will not go away. From what I can tell it is a problem still in Aion over in Korea and it has ruined the economy there.
And yeah, not being able to whisper your friends until level 10 is kind of a dick move. Or wait for it…if you friend someone, that is who you can talk to!!!!

I saw that person just sitting there in Eltnen. Why can’t they just walk around and ban these people? It is this not a violation of the EULA to sit there with a bubble over her head selling a website. Is there a way to report them?

How will anyone ever find Tutty now?
A total chat blackout in beginning zones is the worst idea they ever came up with, or a close second to personal store nerfs to 30 mins.
Players are going to quit in frustration just not being able to figure out chat because I doubt any new player will know about this hotfix.
