I think it is more like when there is a tv show you loved, but it ends. You keep searching for another show to fill the void, but none quite satisfy. Either they are too different, or to much of a rehash. So you watch reruns, but that doesn't really satisfy. When a new show comes out, you rush to watch the first few episodes, but then you lose interest when it doesn't live up to the memory of the show you loved. I've played MMOs almost exclusively for the last several years, not bothering with stand alone games. I like the social interaction combined with gaming. But there just isn't anything out there right now that can hold my attention. So I toy with the thoughts of going back to some of the MMOs I used to love, knowing it will probably only hold my attention for a couple of months. I think a break might not be such a bad thing.
