War were declared…

Well, there’s been some speculation popping up this week about a possible TF2 class or…something update. The more information that eeked out, the more we found out about a friendship that was formed between the red Demoman, and the blue Soldier. Evidently, the administrator can’t have such things going on, so a little competition was forged in order to split up our would-be Romeo and Juliet. With that, it seems that a Demoman and Soldier update was headed our way. Finally, after all this time, my favorite class in the game will be updated with three new weapons which will be revealed over the course of the week.
There’s a possibile 4th new weapon?? But I have to fight for it? This is one of the most brilliant things I’ve ever seen Valve do. Nothing has made me want to play Team Fortress 2 more than this incentive to fight for a mystery fourth weapon. Will the Soldier class eventually get theirs to? Most likely, unless it’s utterly pointless and gives them nothing to bitch about. But even to have early access to it, and bragging rights to say, “I fought in this war, and I won…with ONE EYE” is truly epic.
Soldiers, prepare to be blown away.
I really hope it’s true updates for both classes. They are two of my favorite classes to play, but they almost seem archaic compared to some of the tricks that the other classes have.
I can never get into the demo man, but I loves me some soldier. I have about 3x the play time on that vs the heavy and medic (my next most played classes).
I’ll be putting forth as much effort towards the Demoman’s cause that I can, but I have a feeling that the Soldier will win regardless because I think more people play him. He’s more approachable by new and veteran players than the cyclops.
I still think something is going to happen with the Announcer, resulting in both of them getting the “Secret 4th Weapon”. ;D

Bender and Fry sign up for the military in order to get a discount on store bought goods. When signing up, this exchange proceeded with the recruiter:
Sergeant: “Correct, there is no obligation.”
Bender/Fry: *giggling, signing up for army*
Sergeant: “Unless of course, war were declared.” *alarm goes off*
Fry: “What’s that?”
Sergeant: “War were declared.”
Oh, right. How could I forget!
