38 Studios – Calm before the storm

You may already know about the recent spiral into oblivion that 38 Studios and Big Huge Games just fell into, but I found this article on Joystiq to be an amazingly insightful read.

This excerpt is a pretty good prologue:

“I’ve covered a lot of companies in distress; I’ve gotten the hate mail that comes with it. It doesn’t matter if the truth comes out a week later, I can accept the rage. What I’ve never been able to witness before is the denial.”

I know this is a short post, and more serious than I usually try to go for, but if you find the games industry to be fascinating at all you’ll probably find this to be worthy of your time.

I can’t obviously refute the article you linked, but I have some reservations to its authenticity. I guess I just have a problem believing that the author was sitting at the donut shop across the street from the 38 Studios and the events as they are written.
