Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Bethesda under legal scrutiny as Notch buys a new hat!

In an event that can only be compared to an animalistic food chain, a lawsuit was just filed yesterday against Bethesda Softworks, publisher of such games as Wayne Gretzky Hockey 3, IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005, and the Elder Scrolls. Just last month, a similar litigation was filed by Bethesda against Mojang, game development house whose name is synonymous with Minecraft. The Minecraft creators were working on a new game entitled “Scrolls,” but after getting wind of the upcoming game, Bethesda grew worried that due to the similarities in title with their own “Elder Scrolls” series, and for the fact that other likenesses such as mountains exist in both titles, consumers may get confused.

Now in a stunning turn, Bethesda has been served paperwork for a similar lawsuit by none other than the Dead Sea Scrolls. In a press release just this morning the DSS stated, “We had no idea we had a chance at such a case in court. We were cruising Reddit one morning when we saw this come up and figured, hey, you want Elder Scrolls? You’re not gonna find any scrolls older.”

When reached for comment, a spokesperson from Bethesda was quoted as saying, “This just seems really sill…..oh.”

Hahaha. Karma is such a bitch.

Litigation in this country is seriously out of control. Frivolous lawsuits need to have some kind of penalty and maybe people would quit trying to win the litigation lottery all the time.

Nice one, I like it! In all honesty I hate Minecraft and wish Bethesda would crush the game out of existence, but that’s just me being selfish.
