Oh….DCUO is out today….here’s a poll

Seriously, I totally forgot that it was coming out today. No, I’m not planning on picking it up, but I was curious to see if anyone is. I didn’t participate in the beta at all, so I have no frame of reference on the game. Maybe that’s a bad thing though. I mean,  I don’t see anyone talking about the game. So either I’m just not reading the right blogs, or this thing isn’t getting as much press as what could be expected from a new MMO.

Sooo…TO THE POLL!

  • It isn’t a keeper, but it is fun enough for a month or two. Kinda like the console game it was designed to be. I really dislike the action click fest interface (Oh, hi RTS’s!), but I did like the stories. They did way better than the other superhero MMOs to make you feel like a hero from a comic. I plan to play through the Batman storyline and then I doubt I’ll come back to it.

Played the beta and as much as I thought the combat was fun, it does get repetative. It’s also far more limited in its character creation, so don’t expect what you get from a Cryptic game, and I thought in my limited play time that the questing content was kind of lacking. Put it this way, it was fun to play every so often for a couple of hours at a time.

Poll won’t work for me. /sob

Tried both PS3 and PC betas. It was fun but didn’t feel like something I needed to jump into on Day 1. I can wait for a deal. While waiting for Rift I’ll keep playing my free 30 days of my $10 Aion client I got from Steam.

Poll worked for me. I’ll be playing for at least a month. Completely forgot I preordered it several months ago. Realized it was coming out this week and tried to cancel my preorder with Steam. They never replied and viola! I have DCUO. But that’s okay. I liked the game well enough. I was going to skip it though as it seemed everybody I knew that was going to play is caught up in Rift hype now.

  • Pazzolupo says:

I un-reserved it to pay for my Rift Collector’s Edition, so it’s safe to say that I will not be participating in this game.

  • Blue Kae says:

I was pretty disappointed in the beta. The stories were pretty good and the combat was okay (if a bit too button mashery), but the customization that I’ve come to expect from Champs and CoH was not there. That’s a deal breaker for a superhero game in my book.
