Star-Wars-Holiday-Special

As someone who blogs about MMOs and is insanely excited to play Star Wars: The Old Republic, I think it’s a necessity that I make this post. While you’ve most likely heard the news about a thousand times at this point, and frankly are getting sick and tired of it, I don’t care! It’s by law that I do this!

Star War is coming home for the holidays! While my wife attempts to fine me the ideal gift, she won’t give me what I truly want: a week or so alone. We’ll be steeped in family affairs for more days and hours that I’d have cared to partake in even before I knew TOR wasn’t dropping days before. Now that it is, I’ll be helping the kids rip through the presents so fast you’d think we were going for a Guiness Book record with the hopes of leaving for home a couple hours earlier. “WHY ARE YOU TAKING SO LONG? IT’S JUST A WIRE TIE, RIP IT OFF WITH YOUR TEETH!”

Joking aside, I am quite anxious for the date to arrive. Winter is a traditional time of staying inside anyways, so the date couldn’t be better. It gives me plenty of time to get a lot of single player and competitive gaming out of my system before I dive back into my first MMO since Rift. I’m trying to keep from scratching that itch, let me tell you.

In another positive turn of events related to The Old Republic; our guild, Delusions of Grandeur will become allies with the Republic Mercy Corps (and rivals to their evil counterparts, the Imperial Mercy Corps). We weren’t really expecting to go into TOR with an alliance or an enemy on day one. Instead we figured if we were ever meant to have one, something would come about post-launch and be a natural fit.

Blogger and friend of the Multiplaying family MMOGC is an officer for the Mercy Corps and was on the hunt for a group to align with ever since the TOR guild system went into phase 2. Have played with MMOGC in Rift and knowing her demeanor from twitter, I can only assume that this will be an amazing fit. With a large group of long time Multiplayers, the addition of Children of the New Sun members, and now the Mercy Corps….this is going to be fun on a bun.
