WTB Gaming Vacation
Any day now, life will return to normal operations. At least I hope. This past weekend was my kids’ birthday party (a two-fer construction/princess extravaganza for my now 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter), so the past week or so has been nothing but clean, clean, clean. Things are getting very busy at work, so the bits of free time to write something down for the site have been nonexistent. So between work at work and more work at home, by the time I get to sit down and play any games, I’m ready to crash. Sunday was a good day though. Sure, we were busy organizing the house after that toy hurricane hit, but I got to sit and relax off and on. All culminating with becoming ever so depressed watching the Vikings blow a chance at the Super Bowl. Oh well, shit happens. But what have I been playing you ask? Oh, you didn’t ask? Well, now that your interest has been peaked, I’ll tell you!
Mass Effect – The game I started playing before the holidays and quickly ceased playing because A. I got stuck, and 2. I had received so many cool new games as gifts, my ADD kicked in and I ran off with the new titles like a lotto winner with his mistress. But I’m back baby! I knocked down the difficulty a notch last night to get through the tight spot I was in (no, not the sex scene) and moved on to greener pastures filled with the grazing cows of rich storytelling. I’m hoping to knock out this game over the course of the next week or so in order to be fully prepped for Mass Effect 2. Yeah, I know it’s out, like, today, but I really want to get a grasp of the story which leads up to the amazing looking sequel. Here’s the trailer if you’ve missed it:
Bonus question (yes, you’re being tested; you should have received a box in the mail with a cup for urine and a postmarked return box for the contents which you must fill. We’re going on the honor system here so, no using your friend’s fluids!): For those of you who have played Mass Effect, who did you prefer in your landing party? I’m digging Wrex, but I’m trying to find someone who he works well with.
Of all the MMO’s that I have beta access or subscriptions to, the one that keeps me coming back is…actually, none of them. I’ve really had no time! I want to be playing Global Agenda, but I’d rather not put forth any time on a character that will get wiped in a week. I’m getting this tingly feeling in my no-no place telling me it’s time to start playing more LotRO, so I may end up rocking some of that this week. But I also keep promising myself to log into Fallen Earth to snag a bunch of screenshots for a gallery.

In the beginning I was solely Ashley/Kaidan for awhile. Upon gaining Wrex I switched to him and Garrus, great one liners in that group. I would say more but I don’t wanna spoil anything for ya Slurms. <3
My first play thorough I played a male character so I had Ashley and Kaiden as well and then when Kaiden was no more I had Garrus.
I had a combination of Ashley/Garrus/Liana (I think that was her name) when I played Mass Effect. Here’s hoping I can finish ME2, Darksiders (among other things!!) and get back to LOTRO. It might be another few weeks, ha. I’ve already taken like a month off!
When I first played through I was a soldier, and kept Ashley and Tali in my group, although the more I played I switched up to Wrex/Tali for pretty much everything. Covered pretty much everything, and Tali was never a bad idea to have when fighting the Geth
I agree with Rer though, I’d go Wrex/Garrus for a change of pace, and it was great for the comments they make.
I really loved T’Soni/Wrex combo. I was usually playing a hybrid character (usually tech based) but would switch in Tali for T’soni if I needed some Quarian lovin’. I loved Wrex. In fact, all of the characters were really well done (an no slacking in the sequel that I’ve noticed). Although I am perterbed by 2 loading messages.
“After beating Mass Effect 2, start a new game to gain powerful bonuses!!”
“After finishing Mass Effect 2, try Mass Effect 3…if you dare”
Damn you Bioware….DAMN YOU!!!!
