A plea to Mythic
If you follow me on twitter or listen to the podcast, you already know. But if you just read my words; hey, I’m playing WAR again. So now that we got that out of the way…
I have something I need to beg. I know it’s been brought up before, I think even on our podcast (long, long ago). Maaaaybe there’s a business reason this hasn’t been done already, or maybe it’s just because there’s not been enough of an outcry for it. But, (sorry in advance for the use of all caps)…
PLEASE MYTHIC,
LET US HAVE A DISCOUNT FOR SUBSCRIBING TO BOTH WARHAMMER ONLINE AND DARK AGE OF CAMELOT.
THANKS!
Whatever happened to this? Maybe it’s a bad idea, but am I the only one who would gladly pay 20 bucks a month for the ability to jump into either game at any time? Is there anyone out there who currently subscribes to both? I can’t really see this being a loss for Mythic at all. But again, maybe I don’t see the business end as clearly as they do.
I think just dropping the total subscription cost to $25 isn’t quite enough to make people salivate, but I think giving you both games for essentially 10 bucks a month would be a fantastic deal, one that would be hard for many WAR players to ignore (at least for a month or two).
What do you guys and gals think?

Words falling on deaf ears man. I agree, but still.
I approve of this message. Not that I sub to either, or see myself doing so, but I support this kind of option from companies which happen to operate more then one MMO. Hell, I’d even throw UO in there just for the hell of it. Couldn’t hurt.
Call it the WAR/DAOC/UO Holy Trinity Pack!?
But I’m sure if it was financially viable the bean counters would have already told EA/BioWare/Mythic to do it.
Income = monthly sub fee
Expenses = server usage, staffing, new development
The ratio of income to expenses needs to favour the former or it doesn’t make sense for them to do it. Then again, I doubt the addition of one new player, even if s/he only arrives at a 1/2 or 2/3 price discount would increase expenses by all that much in the case of these games.
I guess it all comes down to numbers as Snafzg said. If enough people were willing to do it, (IE: Send out a poll Mythic?) then it’d be financially feasible.
Hell, I’d do it just to have a chance to actually play DAOC.
I would totally reup, and get my infiltrator out of mothballs. Loved that Sarecen mofo
