So this was the title of the email sitting in my inbox today. Isn’t trying to steal WoW accounts like so five years ago? I firmly believe that World of Warcraft is a great MMO, but something that has always been an issue for me has been the account hacking that is so rampant. I have had two accounts hacked many years ago and it’s one of the most frustrating and helpless feelings one can have. That is why I now have an authenticator! But enough of that stuff, I wanted to share the email that I received because I thought it was pretty funny.

I did the best I could with a copy and paste from my email, and I also disabled the links for everyones safety. Oh, and the full title of the email I received was as follows: Know your WOW account number is stolen, we apologize that this is free of charge compensation aqj

My trial account is created?! Maybe nobody will notice the words on the picture lol.

They might be scary if they used proper wording and punctuation lol. To a younger kid though this could be dangerous in an inbox, where they wouldn’t notice things like that :(

Its sad that this can even happen off of 3rd party guild websites. My old guild had to move their web hosting after it was discovered that over half the guild had been hacked because of it. Had to due with people using the same login/password as their WoW account and apparently the hackers were smart about it.

    Makes me glad,
    A) I don’t click on random links
    B) run a good virus protection program
    C) also use an authenticator

Now that I stopped playing I probably don’t need it anymore, but it makes me feel safe!!!

I don’t play WoW right now either, but I do feel safe knowing I still have an authenticator as well.
