Slurms’ Thanksgiving Weekend Recap
No work for four days, I had quite a lot ahead of me
Twas to be a weekend full of gaming, decorating and family.
Day one I snatched the gang and packed up the car.
We headed to my parents house which wasn’t too far.
We went with the promise of a Thanksgiving lunch.
With all of the trimmings, we ate quite a bunch.
We went home with sleepy kids who needed a nap
What do I want for dinner? I don’t think I can eat crap.
Day two was decorating the house for the season
On breaks I played Uncharted 2 for a great reason
They updated the game with models that looked like I felt
Doughnut Drake ate so much he had to buy a new belt

My wife went shopping for one last Xmas deal
She left me with the boy whose rear had a shitty feel
Day three was a trip to a place not for me
We went to the Bass Pro Shop, for Santa we’d see
While we waited for the fat man, the kids sure had fun
They played with slot cars, arcade games and toy guns
Suddenly my wife filled my face with such glee
Revealing that they had something there just for me
She pointed me in the direction and watched me fly like a dart
and pick up a Red Ryder BB gun. Watch your back Black Bart

Day four I swore to the lady I’d do nothing but play
Except for the usual dad stuff, I wanted gaming all day
I wound up making a trip to the store for decorations
My kids wanted some exterior holiday sensations
So gaming would wait until the kids went to bed
I should know from history it never matters what I’ve said.
My proclamation of gaming seems to have no authority
Over decorating things like the lawn, the house, or the tree.
End of day four and the house was all clean
The kids were in bed and my PC seemed to gleam
But tiredness set in after resting in my chair
Visions of gaming started to vanish into thin air
Then thoughts of work in the morning made me a bit surly
And after this busy weekend…..
I went to bed early.

I’m very impressed, I can never seem to write poetry. Well done sir!
Don’t know whether to be awed or scared…I’ll let you know later
the similarity between the two pictures is scary.
