The other day while brushing my teeth, I happened to turn my head slighty and saw that my receding hairline had continued to move further south than I was previously aware. My wife was in the room with me and heard my muffled “holy shit!” as toothpaste crept out from the corners of my mouth. She saw my concerned look and said, “yeah, you should see it from the back.” I sighed and accepted it for what it was. I usually keep my dome pretty shorn of hair, but since i’ve been busy lately, I havnt had time to take the blades to it. I bet you are wondering at this point what this has to do with gaming. Well, nothing! Oh wait, yeah it does….kindof.

I was on my way to work today, and my mind wandered off like it usually does. I thought about the upcomming Star Wars MMO, and the cinematic trailer that came out via E3. There’s one thing about the trailer that popped into my head suddenly, the main villain, and his baldness. Seems that Star Wars has a thing form making the super baddy a bald headed menace. You have Darth Malak from Knight of the Old Republic, Darth Vader from….well you know, Darth Maul,although I think that just something to do with his race, but still, no hair! Palpatine seemed to be losing his hair in the prequels and was undoubtably bald as a doorknob by the time of the original trilogy. The list goes on, and its not just Star Wars! Oh, my point? Why can’t we defenders of the bald, the proud hat wearers, and owners of many a razor blade be portayed as do-gooders?
