In Space, No-One Can Hear You Scream, But Everyone In Reykjavik Can
As some of you may remember, back during the player riots earlier this year, pilots from around New Eden joined forces to stage a massive protest throughout known space. One of the prime targets was a monument, decidated to a past great moment in EVE's history. As it turns out, the massive overhaul of game mechanics and ships wasn't the only thing to recieve an update.
In Jita, the main central trading hub of New Eden, players will now see this -
“This was once a memorial to the winners of a riddle contest sponsored by late entrepreneur Ruevo Aram. After standing proud for half a decade, it was destroyed in late YC113 by capsuleers who were staging a mass uprising against an intolerable status quo of intergalactic affairs. Today, the ruins of this once-great work of art stand as a testament to the fact that change is the universe’s only constant.”

This in concert with the metric shit ton of fixes, mechanics changes, and updates that EVE is receiving really does give people like me a sense that we accomplished something truly noteworthy. The playerbase as a whole may very well have turned CCP’s ship towards calmer waters, and saved the game we all know and love.
Talking with EVE players, from all areas of the game, it seems everyone is practically creaming their snazzy space-pants at how much of a turnaround CCP has pulled in the past few months. EVE: Crucible (Name subject to change) is gearing up to be one of the best expansions the game has seen in years, and I couldn’t be more proud for having played (an admittedly small) part in its creation.
Winter Is Coming, and I can’t freaking wait.
