It’s amazing to think about the shooters that came out around the time of this. There were so many high profile ones that people have moved on from, yet this game still keeps on going.
I think it totally depends on the implementation. From the way it sounds, you’ll mostly be crafting weapons (and hats?) that already exist in game as drops. It just acts as a means for people to access them quicker. As for the possibility of other weapons, I just hope they don’t do anything stupid and make super powerful ones only available to crafters.
What sucks is that I’ve recently purged my backpack because of duplicate items and such getting me confused. But I’ll deal.
Anyway — Reading through it — Might be able to Make in game items that drop as well — which I think is the only way they can go on this. So to make a jar of pee, I need 5 gallons of gattoraid and a mason jar.
Specific implementation here is going to be important; but could be nice to be able to take some old stuff and turn it into something I’ve been eyeing for a while…
Yeah, the discarded weapons thing has to burn those who have just been deleting duplicates. Only way I can think of to approach it is to either make all currently held items not apply, or say, “oh well” to anyone who discarded.

Slurms is the Nostrodamus of gaming. Seriously, to see this after reading your TF2/MMO post and listening to the podcast… wacky.

Perhaps they’ll have a record of past items gained? Hence maybe they could restore them?

Don’t know if I’d go THAT far hehe.
The TF2 as an RPG was thought up way before me, I just noticed some similarities of two already huge, but totally different IP’s.
It was quite the happy coincidence though!!
Sorry, I just can’t get behind this. Just not my thing and I think kind of ruins the game. If I wanted this I would play borderlands.
